CogniTutor, LLC takes your privacy seriously. We want you to know that you can use our Website and Services with confidence.
This policy covers how we treat personal information that CogniTutor collects and receives, including information related to your registration with the CogniTutor organization either as a Tutor or as a Student.

By submitting a form with a phone number and checking the consent checkbox, you agree to receive SMS messages from CogniTutor as described in the SMS Communications & Consent section below.

Why We Need Your Personal Information

We need to collect some personal information from you to set up your account with us. Here are some of the things we need your personal information to be able to do:

• Make your tutoring sessions personal
• Store all of your past sessions so you can review them at any time
• Complete your purchases and payments
• Contact you about your account
• Ask you for your feedback to help make our service better
• Respond to your email requests for information and/or customer service

You trust us with your personal information. We do everything we can to keep it safe. Some things we will NOT do are:

• We will NOT sell your personal information to anyone
• We will NOT send you newsletters or promotional mail or email if you tell us not to

Types of Information Collected

We collect information such as your name, address, email address, contact information, payment information, survey responses, and other information you input on our Website; automatic data (including transaction details, IP address, login, passwords, and browsing activity); mobile information (location services); and information from other sources.

SMS Consent and Phone Numbers

Cognitutor LLC will not share, sell, or rent your mobile phone number(s) or SMS opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
By providing your phone number(s) and checking the consent box(es) on our website forms, you give us your prior express written consent to receive text messages from Cognitutor LLC.
Message frequency varies based on your inquiry and appointment interactions. We send transactional messages (reminders, follow-ups) and promotional messages only if you have provided separate explicit consent. All messages include clear opt-out instructions.
All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent. This information will not be shared with any third parties.

SMS Communications & Consent

CogniTutor may send SMS text messages to users who provide their phone number through our website forms. By providing your phone number and checking the required consent checkbox, you agree to receive SMS messages from CogniTutor.
Types of SMS Messages We Send:

Service/Transactional Messages (requires consent checkbox):

• Account notifications and updates
• Scheduling confirmations and reminders
• Tutoring session updates
• Customer support communications
• Operational notifications related to your account

Marketing Messages (optional, separate consent):

• Promotional offers and discounts
• Information about new services and programs
• Event announcements
• Educational resources and tips

Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your account activity and preferences. Service messages are sent as needed for your account. Marketing messages, if opted in, may be sent up to 4 times per month.

Message and Data Rates: Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

Opt-Out Instructions: You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. You will receive a confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent unless you re-subscribe.

SMS Consent and Third Parties: SMS consent is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Your consent to receive SMS messages is solely between you and CogniTutor.

SMS consent is not a condition of purchase or using our services. You may use CogniTutor’s services without consenting to SMS messages by contacting us directly.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

When Your Information Will and Will NOT Be Released to a Third Party

• We will NEVER sell your information to a third party.
• We may send promotions via mail to our Members, who retain the right to opt out of receiving these promotions.
• We share your personal information with vendors that help process transactions, such as charging your credit card.  This excludes SMS opt-in data and phone numbers.
• If your parents and/or school pay for or subsidize your tutoring, we may share your personal information with them at their request.
  This may include the content of your tutoring sessions (transcripts) and written feedback from post-session surveys.
  If you pay for your own account without parental or school involvement, we will not share your information with them.
• If we believe that disclosing your personal identification is required by law, is necessary to protect someone from possible injury,
  or as part of a legal investigation, we may do so.
• We may periodically ask our Members to complete surveys to help us improve our services. Your personal information will remain confidential even if a third party conducts the survey.

Additional Technologies

We may use additional technologies such as pixel tags, web beacons, and clear GIFs, and we may permit third party service providers to use these technologies.
These are used for purposes such as measuring the effectiveness of our advertisements, determining viewing and response rates, and tailoring offers on our or third party sites.

Credit Card Policy

While we make every effort to ensure the integrity and security of our network and systems, we cannot guarantee that our security measures will prevent third-party “hackers” from illegally obtaining your information.
In the unlikely event of unauthorized use of your credit card, promptly report the activity to your credit card company.
Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, you are only liable for the first $50 of fraudulent charges. Please verify specific terms with your credit card company.

Online Advertisements

We occasionally display online advertisements on our Website and in our newsletters.
We share aggregated and non-identifying information about our Visitors and Members collected during registration, surveys, and promotions with these advertisers.
Additionally, we may use this aggregated data to deliver tailored advertisements. However, we do not share personal information with advertisers for any other purpose.

Responses to Email Inquiries

When Visitors or Members send email inquiries, we use the return email address solely to respond to your inquiry.
We do not use or share this address for any other purpose.

Our Commitment to Data Security

Services and websites we sponsor have security measures in place to protect against loss, misuse, and alteration of your information.
Despite our efforts, we cannot guarantee that our security measures will prevent third-party “hackers” from illegally obtaining your information.

Changing or Removing Your Information

Upon request, we provide visitors with access to all information we maintain about them.
You may request corrections to inaccuracies in your contact, financial, or transactional information, or request that we no longer store your information by contacting us.
